The Point de Bascule blog is reporting that an advisor to a Canadian agency similar to the US Department of Homeland Security has been suspended pending an investigation into his ties to Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas related organizations. According to the report:

April 30, 2015 After TVA revealed some troubling facts about advisor to Public Safety Canada Hussein Hamdani, Minister Steven Blaney’s office sent a statement to notify the Quebec-based TV network that the advisor had been suspended pending the results of an investigation.

There were three main points in the report that was broadcast by journalist Michel Jean on April 29, 2015:

1) In a guide that was published by the Muslim Students Association in 1996, Hussein Hamdani encouraged Muslim student activists ‘to Islamize campus politics’;

2) In 2003, the Ihya Foundation, an organization led by Hamdani, joined with the Saudi World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) to launch the Reviving the Islamic Spirit conventions in Toronto. In 2012, WAMY’s charitable status was revoked after the Canada Revenue Agency concluded that it funded an Al-Qaeda-linked organization;

3) From 2005 to 2009, two organizations led by Hamdani transferred money to Hamas’ fund collector, IRFAN-Canada. The Canada Revenue Agency revoked IRFAN’s charitable status in 2011 after having concluded that, for the 2005-2009 period alone, it transferred $14.6 million to the terrorist organization Hamas. In April 2014, IRFAN was added to Canada’s list of outlawed terrorist groups.

Here is the reaction of Minister Blaney’s office, as published by TVA’s website / WebArchive – Archive.Today :

It is now clear that it may not have

The GMBDW reported exclusively in October 2010 that the US Department of Homeland Security had sworn in Mohamed Elibiary as one of three new members of the Homeland Security Council, identifying his ties to the Global Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas support organizations. We have also been reporting on developments concerning IRFAN, identified above as a Canadian charity transferring funds to Hamas.

Muslim Brothers were instrumental in the founding of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) and the organization continues to enjoy close relations with the global Muslim Brotherhood. Several important leaders of the Global Muslim Brotherhood began their careers as part of WAMY German Muslim Brotherhood leader Ibrahim El-Zayat and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was also affiliated with the organization in the 1970’s. U.S. government agencies and officials have argued that WAMY has helped spread Islamic extremism around the world as well as sponsoring terrorism in places such as Bosnia, Israel, and India.
