Hamas TV has featured a report objecting to the introduction of UN curriculum into Hamas schools that focuses on peaceful versus violent resistance. According to a MEMRI translation:
February 12, 2014 On February 12, 2014, Al-Aqsa TV aired a report describing the opposition within the Hamas government to school curricula introduced by UNRWA into their schools in the Gaza Strip. The textbooks focus only on peaceful resistance, ignoring all other forms of resistance, said Education Minister Ziyad Thabet.
Following are excerpts:
Anchor: The Education Ministry declared that it was considering taking measures after UNWRA decided to introduce unauthorized curricula into its schools. These curricula are not in keeping with Palestinian culture, and are aimed at changing the way of thinking of Palestinian students, bringing them to accept the Zionist enemy, and teaching them that peaceful, not armed, resistance is the solution to the conflict.
According to the ministry’s communiqué, UNRWA wants to eradicate the culture of Palestinian students in their homeland.
Reporter: In occupied Palestine, students learn about human rights, but not about Palestinian rights. This is what UNRWA is doing in Gaza, by introducing curricula dealing with human rights in grades 7-9. These contain conceptual errors, as well as factual errors regarding the history of the Palestinian cause.
Official: In the tenth lesson of the third unit, they want to teach our children to burn their military uniforms. ‘Everyone has the right of freedom of speech, of thought, of conscience, and of religion – including the right to change his religion.’ ‘When they reach the age of marriage, men and women have the right to marry and raise a family with whoever they want, regardless of gender or religion.’

The Hamas charter says that it is “one of the wings of the Muslim Brothers in Palestine” and soon after Hamas took over the Gaza strip, Muslim Brotherhood representatives traveled to Gaza from Egypt through the newly-opened border to review Hamas military formations. A Hamas journalist has acknowledged the role that the “international Muslim Brotherhood” has played in providing funds for the purchase of weapons and Hamas is known to be supported financially and politically by the global Muslim Brotherhood. A Muslim Brotherhood spokesman revealed that a coalition of London-based Muslim groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood, were behind the mass demonstrations staged to protest Israeli actions in the 2008 Gaza war and the Global Muslim Brotherhood and its Turkish affiliates were also intimately involved, along with the Turkish government, in the June 2010 Gaza flotilla that was involved in a violent altercation with Israeli naval forces. Following a period of seeming ascension related to the period of Egyptian rule by the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization was forced to scramble to try and find other state sponsors after Mohamed Morsi was deposed as President. In September 2013, it appeared that Hamas had succeeded in re-establishing close ties with Iran. In January 2013, Israeli intelligence sources claimed that Turkey has replaced Iran as the chief source of Hamas financing
