TAIPEI: The Muslim World League (MWL) is holding an international conference entitled Dialogue, a Common Human Bond, here Monday. The conference is being held in collaboration with the Muslim Association in Taiwan. Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdelmohsin Al-Turki, Secretary General of the MWL, said the conference is based on King Abdullah’s initiative for dialogue among followers of religions, cultures and civilizations. Dr. Al-Turki, who arrived here Friday to attend the conference, thanked Saudi leaders for their support for the Muslim World League and its various programs.

A previous post reported that as part of a MWL visit to mainland China in last October, a top Chinese political adviser called on mainland China’s Islamic community to “cement friendly cooperation with the Muslim World League (MWL).

The Muslim World League was established in 1962 as a means for the propagation of Saudi “Wahabbi” Islam. Muslim Brothers played an important role in its founding and, to date, the League has been strongly associated with the Brotherhood.
