Egyptian media is reporting that late last month, the Egyptian government froze the assets of 132 Muslim Brotherhood leader. According to a UPI report:

CAIRO, Dec. 28 (UPI) — The Egyptian government has frozen the assets of 132 leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, the organization’s attorney says. Hassan Saleh said the affected members worked at the Muslim Brotherhood’s guidance bureau and its associated non-governmental organization, Ahram Online reported Friday.

The assets were frozen by a judicial ruling that also banned the members’ activities, the Justice Ministry said Thursday.

The names of the members and the exact value of their assets were not announced.

Saleh said the court rejected his request for a statement of the money that was frozen.

Egypt’s interim government Wednesday declared the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization.

The country’s central bank this week froze the assets of more than 1,000 NGOs believed linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.

The GMBDW reported earlier this week that five former aides of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi remain in military detention.
