An Iranian news network is reporting a member of the Iranian Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution has praised global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi for boycotting a conference on religious dialogue which was held last week in Qatar. According to the report:

Iran boycotts Qatar’s International Conference on Dialogue between Religions in a bid to protest the participation of Zionist rabbis. Iran’s representative, Ali Akbar Sadeqi Reshad has asked the organizers of the conference to withdraw his paper from the event. The Egyptian scholar, Yusuf al-Qaradawi has also boycotted the conference, which will be held on May 13 and 14, 2008 in Doha. In a letter to al-Qaradawi, Reshad praised his anti-Zionist stance adding that his efforts, which have always enraged the Zionists and the Israeli regime, have not gone unnoticed by Muslim nations.

This is not the only time in recent months that Iran and Qaradawi have exchanged sympathetic words. Last year, a post reported that Qaradawi made a statement in which he supported the Iranian nuclear program. Earlier, Qaradawi had called for Muslims to defend Iran against a potential U.S. attack.
