Once more illustrating the connections between global Muslim Brotherhood groups, the Scottish Islamic Foundation (SIF) has announced an appearance in Scotland by two leaders from the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR). According to the announcement:
Belief in Action Tour with CAIR
Date: 26th November 2008 Time: 19:00 – 21:00 Location: Aberdeen, Dundee and Kirkaldy
Two senior members from the Council on American Islamic Relations will be touring Scotland in advance of their appearance at the Scottish Muslim Futures conference. CAIR are arguably the most advanced Muslim organisation in the West at dealing with public affairs.
Appearing on the tour will be Yaser Tabbara, the Director of Community Development at CAIR’s Washington DC HQ and Ahmed Rehab, CAIR-Chicago’s Executive Director and CAIR’s National Strategic Communications Director.
An extensive research report has revealed CAIR’s origins in the Hamas infrastructure in the U.S. and the group’s long history of support for fundamentalism, anti-Semitism, and terrorism. Since that report was published, court documents have demonstrated that CAIR is a part of the Palestine Committee of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood. The SIF, in turn, is a relatively new organization and a U.K think-tank has reported on its ties to the global Muslim Brotherhood. The SIF National Conference to be held on November 30 will include global Muslim Brotherhood figures Tariq Ramadan, the grandson of the Brotherhood founder and Ahmed Rehab will also be participating. Also attending will be Scottish Deputy First Minister Sturgeon.
