The President of the Union of Good in Lebanon has written a letter to the Secretary-General of the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY) expressing condolences for the the recent floods in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. According to the WAMY web site, the letter read as follows:

The damage which our kinsfolk and brothers suffered in Jeddah has sored us with great pain, and left in our souls great impression and condolences, as the religious and brotherhood ties bring us all together, and the bonds of keenship and cooperation unite us..We reaffirm our stance on your side under the different conditions and circumstances, underlying your pioneering and luminesce work for Islamic human aid. We call upon Allah to guarantee your safety and protection, and that he blesses the great believer in the land of the two holy sanctuaries and its people, led by King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Aal Saud.

WAMY is one of the organizations known to comprise the Union Of Good described in a NEFA Foundation report as follows:

The Union of Good is a coalition of Islamic charities that provides financial support to both the Hamas “social” infrastructure, as well as its terrorist activities. It is headed by global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi, and most of the trustees and member organizations are associated with the global Muslim Brotherhood. The Union of Good was banned by Israel in 2002 and was recently designated a terrorist entity by the United States, although neither Youssef Qaradawi nor any of the Trustees were similarly designated. Despite the fact that action has been taken against some of its member organizations in Europe, many of its other European member organizations continue to operate. Further, the Union of Good itself does not appear to be under investigation in Europe.

Muslim Brothers were instrumental in the founding of WAMY and the organization continues to enjoy close relations with the global Muslim Brotherhood. U.S. government agencies and officials have argued that WAMY has helped spread Islamic extremism around the world as well as sponsoring terrorism in places such as Bosnia, Israel, and India. Numerous previous posts have discussed WAMY’s activities throughout the world.
