Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Congratulates President Obama On Relection; Pessmistic About Change

Freedom and Justice Party Congratulates Obama on Re-Election As US President – Ikhwanweb:

The  Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood has issued a statement congratulating President Obama on his reelection. According to the statement:

Wednesday, November 7,2012 23:32 IkhwanWeb  The Freedom and Justice Party sent a congratulatory message to Barack Obama on his re-election as President of the United States, expressing hope his second term would witness more fruitful cooperation between the Egyptian and American peoples for the benefit of both countries. The FJP also expressed hope US foreign policy would change to play the leading role expected of it as a super power and a real and fair partner in dealing with the Palestinian issue.”

However, Israeli media is reporting that an Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood spokesman is pessimistic about a change in foreign policy during Obama’s second term:

Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood official Issam Al-Aryan was pessimistic Wednesday that Obama’s foreign policy would change significantly during his second term in office. “Accepting the will of the Arab people is the most important change,” wrote Aryan on his Facebook page. “We must rely on ourselves and on our resources and build our country. In the absence of direct American influence, Egypt can affect and lead the process of building a democratic and constitutional regime that will become a dream for African and the southern hemisphere.”
