German Muslim Brotherhood To Hold 29th Annual Conference

The website of the Islamische Gemeinschaft in Deutschland (IGD), the Muslim Brotherhood in Germany, has announced their 29th annual conference to be held this weekend. Many of the featured speakers are associated with the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe (FIOE), the European Muslim Brotherhood umbrella group, and include:

  • Ibrahim El-Zayat (IGD President and FIOE officer)
  • Chakib Ben Maklouf (new FIOE President)
  • Issam Al-Bashir (member of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, former Sudanese Minister)
  • Ahmed Jaballah (director of the Institut européen de sciences humaines (IESH), FIOE officer)
  • Ayman Aly (FIOE officer)
  • Murad Hoffman (German convert, former NATO Ambassador)
  • Axel Kohler (Head of German Muslim Council)

Also scheduled to attend are the German minister for integration as well as a member of the Berlin senate. The IGD has been listed yearly by the German domestic intelligence agency as an extremist organization and IGD President Ibrahim El-Zayat is a leader or former leader of many important Muslim Brotherhood related organizations including FIOE, the Europe Trust, the Federation of European Muslim Youth Organizations (FEMYSO), and the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY). The IGD has been part of an Islamic center in Munich that has been under the control of the Muslim Brotherhood since the early 1960’s when Said Ramadan, the son-in-law of the founder, took control of an existing Islamic organization located there.
