Monzer Kahf recently appeared on the Live Fatwa section of Islam Online, an Islamic portal owned by Youssef Qaradawi. Dr. Kahf is a relative unknown but important individual in the field of Islamic Finance. According to his CV , Dr. Kahf received his PHD in Economics in the United States in 1975 and has held positions at the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia as well as having served as the Director of Finance for the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood umbrella group. Curiously, his CV omits his past service as a Trustee of the North American Islamic Trust, the ISNA-affiliated body that holds title to hundred of mosques in the U.S. Dr. Kahf currently resides in California.
