Global Muslim Brotherhood organizations continue their outpouring of commentary and support for Hamas in the current Gaza crisis. Most recent examples include a poem written for the occasion by Tariq Ramadan and a statement by the International Union of Muslim Scholars, headed by Youssef Qaradawi, that referred to recent gun battle between the Israeli military and Hamas gunmen as a ” criminal Zionist massacre.” Two days ago the website of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood organization, announced that MPAC had taken part in an interfaith news conference and vigil where MPAC Senior Adviser Dr. Maher Hathout said that:

People of religion should rise above tribalism that they feel they belong to and consider ourselves as people of God

The announcement also reported that during the vigil, leaders from Kinder USA and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund “discussed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the need for immediate assistance.” A former FBI analyst has written that KinderUSA was a successor to the Holy Land Foundation, currently under U.S. prosecution in connection with Hamas terrorism financing. The analyst additionally has said that KinderUSA is also involved with raising funds for Hamas. Several previous posts have discussed the role of the global Muslim Brotherhood in organizing protests against Israeli actions in Gaza.
