U.S. Muslim Brotherhood Group Calls Legal Action Against Imam "A Witch Hunt"

A Boston newspaper is reporting that after the imam of the 1,500 member Islamic Center of New England was charged with lying to federal immigration officials between 2002 and 2006 in an effort to obtain a green card and ultimately become a US citizen, the Executive Director of the Boston chapter of the Muslim American Society (MAS) called the prosecution “an apparent witch hunt.” The MAS is a lesser-known Muslim Brotherhood group in the U.S and such groups often refer to legal actions against Muslims using such language and/or asserting that the actions are part of a “war on Islam.”
